1. Add some Color
I love fall colors! If you do too, you can easily change the whole vibe of your room just by adding a colorful blanket and change your pillowcases.
2. Use your Fairy Lights
I have no words for that cute leaf decor! The fairy lights add that cozy vibe to it that everyone loves.
3. Get an Essential Oil Diffuser
A big drawback to living in a dorm – to me personally- is that candles are prohibited to have inside the building. For that reason, I have been looking for an alternative to still make my room smell like pumpkin spice and fall: Diffusers!
They are actually way more affordable than I thought, and you could add it to your wishlist too!
The one I found on Amazon isn’t quite the scent I was looking for, but I’m sure you will find one you like when you browse the suggestions a little bit.
4. Lots of Pillows
I am sure you already have pillows in your dorm room. But if not enough for the colder season, it is time to get some cozy and fluffy pillows and pillowcases.
If you already own a lot of pillows, you can also just get some new colored pillowcases to change it up a little.
5. Get a Onesie
Onesies are super comfy and perfect for fall!
If you are more the hoodie fan, that is okay too! You can go to the thrift stores first to see if you can find some good oversized hoodies for fall!
6. Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!
Number 6 of our Fall dorm decor ideas are Pumpkins!
If you had to pick one item to represent fall, what would it be? To me, it’s definitely pumpkins!
I love going to pumpkin farms, carve them, paint them, and eat them too! (of course only the edible ones).
You can get real pumpkins, or if you want them to last longer then decorative pumpkins from a store or Amazon.
If you do go for a fake one, think about it for a moment though. We don’t want it to end in a landfill after being used for a few days. Be sure to use it every year if you get one from non-organic material.

7. Hang a Tapestry
I always wanted to have one of those tapestries that were so popular on Tumblr! It’s only important to check with your RA if you live in a dorm about how much you can cover your walls.
8. Paint Jars and Boxes
#8 of our fall dorm decor ideas list are painted jars (and boxes). You don’t need to get new things just to bring some color in!
Use jars and boxes that can be painted on. That way, you can paint them multiple times and it looks great!
9. Make a Door Sign
Even though that picture isn’t very fall-y, it’s an example of how a door sign would look like.
Having a door sign is a great way to make your dorm door memorizable and also be entertaining!
You can use door signs that let you write on them, which is perfect for leaving notes for your friends. Or you make a pretty one with more graphics on it including pumpkins and leaves.
10. Picture Wall
I have had several different picture walls so far, and I plan on doing them in college too! You can add fairy lights and even leaves to your wall to make it a little more personal.
And your own photos obviously.
These are my 10 picks of fall dorm decor ideas! I hope you like them and found something you want to try out this fall. Tell me your fav in the comments!
