Let’s talk about frat parties: here are 5 don’ts and 5 dos in the best guide to frat parties!
Going into college, you probably will experience parties, whether you are a party-lover or just want to try it once while in college.
Frat Party DON’Ts
Let us start with what NOT to do at or before frat parties.
1. Have expectations
If it’s your first frat party, just keep in mind that it probably won’t be like in the movies.
Even if it is like in the movies, going in with no expectations is probably going to be more fun.
2. Accept drinks from strangers
Don’t ever accept drinks from strangers! There isn’t much more to say to that:D

3. Use bathrooms
Try to go to the bathroom before you leave for parties. You don’t want to be waiting to go to disgusting bathrooms at the frat. Trust me.
4. Go alone
Please don’t go alone! It’s not just that it is more fun with friends, but also much safer. You can stay together that way and figure out who will get you home.
5. Wear expensive clothes
I see this all the time. Girls wear pretty clothes and they get spilt over and dirty.
I’m not telling you to not dress nicely, but maybe don’t wear your most expensive shirt.
Frat Party Tips and Do’s
Now, let’s talk about some things that you SHOULD do before and at frat parties.
1. Drink before going
(Disclaimer: If you are over 21). I would recommend drinking before you go, for various reasons. 1, you can get as drunk or not drunk as you want to without pressure.
2, don’t trust other people giving you drinks. You never know what’s in them.
2. Get on the list
If you know anything about greek life, you probably know that knowing people in frats and sororities can get you into parties much easier.
It is definitely easier being a girl, but it can never hurt to know some guys from frats who can put you on their guest list.
3. Stay safe
Please stay safe!
If you have a bad feeling about a frat, rather leave and go to a different one than have something bad happen.
Not saying anything bad will happen, but trust your gut feeling. Better safe than sorry.
Here are a few safety tips:
- Stay with your friends
- Don’t accept drinks from others
- Don’t go crazy with drinking
4. Take a jacket
If it isn’t summer, I would definitely recommend taking a jacket. What my friends and I usually do is we put them into a closet or give it to a frat guy who is watching over and sitting by the stairs (usually at least).
Trust me, you WILL be cold when walking home.
5. Have fun
Last but not least, enjoy yourself! You’re at a party with your friends, how bad could that be?
And if you don’t enjoy it, at least you know for the future.
These are my top tips for the best guide to frat parties! I hope they were helpful and you’ll know what to do when it’s the time!
