What you generally want to be looking for in WordPress Themes
- responsiveness, so visitors on mobile can still read everything
- customization options. It’s rare that you don’t need to customize the theme to make it fit your brand. On the other hand, don’t just pick the theme with the longest “features” list. Some companies list out every single feature, while others just list the most important ones.
- compatible (or included) with a Genesis Framework. (The theme you will buy is going to be a child theme which needs a base. Sometimes the parent theme (Genesis Framework) comes with it, and sometimes it does not. You should check before purchasing.)
- compatible with your website provider. Most themes are made for self-hosted WordPress.org websites, so if you use anything other than that, check if the theme is compatible, or change to WordPress.org. Here is my Guide on how to do that!
Once you have decided on one of these gorgeous feminine WordPress themes, it’s super easy to install it! Here is how:
I n s t a l l a t i o n
- Log into your WordPress account
- Go to Appearance > Themes
- Click “Add New” at the top of the screen
- Click “Upload Theme” at the top of the screen
- Unzip the .zip file of your theme and upload it
- Click “Activate” once your theme has uploaded
