1. Open When Letters
These are great for any friend or girlfriend, but I think especially best friends would love this!
You can either buy them on Etsy or make them yourself.
Categories you can write the letters about can include:

- now
- you miss me
- you’re sad
- you want to talk to me
- you are angry
- you’re upset

- etc
I love this gift idea because it can be customized and it’s super personal!

6. Board with Pictures
I saw this gift idea on Pinterest and I love it! Let me know in the comments what you think about it, but I’d love to get this from my besties.
Buy a wooden board and pin/glue Polaroids or printed pictures on it. Decorate with some cute tape, and done!
7. Care Box
If you don’t see your bff every day, this is the perfect gift idea!
Pick a theme, such as blue, yellow, Christmas, birthday, or anything else, and put her favorites in the box.
This can be great for when she is away (ex: in college) and needs a few essentials.
8. Pillow
This personalized pillow is the perfect gift for your best friend! You can print pictures of the two of you or other friends on it.
Click here to see the personalized pillows.
9. Happy Jar
Another idea I saw on Pinterest that I wanted to share with y’all!
Take a jar and put little notes in it. It doesn’t have to be a “happy jar”, it can also be activity ideas that she can pick from the jar every time you guys don’t know what to do.
It’s just a cute idea that is on a budget!
10. Journal
Lastly, you can give your best friend a journal that you either have pictures of you two in it, or one that is blank and ready for her thoughts and ideas.
Both are good gift ideas for her, and I’m sure she’ll love it! You can barely ever do something wrong with a notebook/journal!
Click here to see my favorite journal.
Gift Ideas for your Sister
In this category we’ve got gift ideas for her, your sister!
While many of the “best friend” gift ideas would be amazing for sisters , (make sure to check them out above if you haven’t yet), here are some more ideas.
11. A huge stuffed animal
This is also a good gift idea for a girlfriend, but sisters love them just as much!
I got this big teddy bear for my sister to one of her birthdays and she loved it. Not everyone has a boyfriend to give them one, especially when they’re still young. But there is nothing wrong with still wanting cute gifts!
Here is one that is affordable AND cute! (although I would suggest you look in a local store first, since these are quite impractical to deliver).
12. A flash drive with funny old memories
I think this one is quite fun!
If you have old pictures, videos, and funny childhood memories, put them all on a flash drive and give that as a gift!
If you only have pictures, you can print them and put them in an album instead, but often it’s the videos that are even funnier.
I might do that for my sister sometime! We have the most hilarious karaoke recordings and one-take movies we filmed. Too good for her not to have.
13. Scratch off map of the US or the world
Scratch off maps are awesome, but why not get your sister one where you can add pictures!
There are also maps of certain countries, so if you are from the US you can get a map with the US states, or if from Germany, a map of the states/counties or Europe.
Click here to see the cutest map with pictures!
14. Matching Jewelry
I know, just giving jewelry can be boring. But how about matching or personalized jewelry?
There are necklaces for different zodiac signs, for sisters, or bracelets that can be engraved.
Here is an Etsy shop that sells cute matching necklaces!
15. Box with Sustainable Essentials
Striving for a less wasteful and more sustainable lifestyle is (hopefully) everyone’s goal. Many people think that it costs a lot of money, but that is simply not true if you do it right.
Getting your sister (or friends) sustainable essentials is a great way to spread awareness and make their lives easier too.
You can get 10% off with the code “zsuzsanna10” for all of these great products:
- Reusable Straw
- Lunch Boxes/ Food Containers
- Bamboo Toothbrush
- Stainless Steel Razor
- Water Bottle
- Compostable Phone Case
- Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
For more sustainable items, read my post the ultimate sustainability guide for students. That will have some more ideas on being more eco-friendly.
16. Fun activities
Again, activities can be great gift ideas for her, especially if your sister has pretty much everything she needs.
You can give away a coupon or tickets to some fun activities, whether that is a movie, camping, taking a cooking class, or going for a party weekend to the next big city near you.
17. Projector
A projector can be a great gift to your sister if she is into movies and shows!
They are not too expensive (although not on the smallest budget) but they are more unique than just getting DVDs (which is not the worst idea either haha).
Click here to see the projector I am talking about.
18. Water Bottle
If your sister doesn’t have one yet, it’s time!!
There are tons of cute water bottles out there. Some have filters, some are metal, some are glass. Pick the design she would like most and you can be sure she’ll use it.
Click here for some cute ones.
19. Coffee mug
Kind of related to a water bottle, but not everyone loves coffee.
If your sister does, jackpot! Get her a cute reusable coffee mug (one you can refill at the shop or at home) that saves her money at the coffee shop and also the planet from more waste.
Especially the travel mugs are great for students.
Click here to see some reusable coffee mugs!
20. Do a prank
While this is not exactly a gift on its own, it’s a fun idea for Christmas!
Take cardboard boxes in several sizes and put them into each other.
That makes the gift look huge at first, but when she opens it she will find another box, and another box. At the end she will end up with a small box that will have a gift in it.
I’ve done this in the past and it’s super fun, stretches the gift opening (who doesn’t want it to last a little longer…) and she still gets a little gift.
Gift Ideas for Mom
Let’s keep talking about gifts for families. Parents can be especially tough to buy for, because they usually don’t wish for anything and have too much stuff already.
21. Custom Apron
If your mom loves cooking and baking (or just does it a lot), you could give her an apron that she’ll love to wear!
Etsy has some amazing shops that customize them. Check them out here!
22. Zero Waste Kitchen Utensils
Similar to giving your best friend or sister sustainable lifestyle or school essentials, you can give your mom some utensils too.
Reusable produce bags, solid soap bars, wooden kitchen utensils, bees wax wraps (plastic foil substitute) a composter, etc!
Getting her items like that makes your household more sustainable and takes it off your mom’s shoulders to buy the products. Click here to check out this sustainable online store!
23. Picture Pillow
Moms LOVE personalized gifts, especially those with pictures of her kids. By getting her a pillow with pictures on it, you’ll be sure that she will love it!

25. Flowers
Every woman loves flowers! To make it a little more special, you can arrange the flowers in a heart, or get flowers that don’t die! (there are special rose boxes that keep the roses fresh for years!)
26. Coupons!
Again, coupons are great gifts, especially for busy moms.
Whether it’s for an activity for the two of you such as a hike, weekend trip, or cooking class for Asian food, or you doing chores for her, it’s a great idea!
You can also give her a coupon for a spa day while you clean the house.
27. A mom-daughter bucket list book
This is kind of like a bucket list, but more like a book with pictures of the activities and empty space to write about your own experiences and add pictures!
I did this for my mom last year and she loved it.
All you need is a thin book or notebook, and some creativity!
Think of things you want to do with your mom, or things she might want to do with you. That can be to take a cooking class, paint together, or even future ideas such as picking our your wedding dress with her.
Moms love personal gifts, and I think this is a unique one!
Click here to get to a bucket list book you can use to write it in!
28. Plants
Plants are great gift ideas for her, except if she travels a lot! There are also hundreds and thousands of different plants and flowers that you can choose from.

If your mom doesn’t have a smoothie maker yet, she should have one! It will nmake living healthy much easier.
I can recommend those smaller ones that are not bulky and also more affordable.

Gift Ideas for your Girlfriend
These gift ideas for her are perfect for girlfriends! Keep reading to get some ideas what to give your significant other.
31. A love letter
Sounds basic, but is honestly one of the cutest things you can do to make your girl happy!
If you feel like it needs a little more, add some pictures in the envelope or some flowers on the side. Simple but one a great gift!
32. A Surprise Trip
Memories are worth much more than things, so how about you take her somewhere while she has no clue where you’re headed?
Whether it’s a restaurant, a close by accommodation for the night, or a special place such as a tree house or cabin with a hot tub, I’m sure she’ll love it!
33. Reasons I love you
This is another cute gift idea for your girlfriend. Write down reasons you love her on small pieces of paper, fold them, and put them all into a jar.
Even if you aren’t the most creative person on this planet, this gift idea is cute even without much decoration.
Just make sure you write “reasons I love you” or “… reasons I love you” on the jar so she at least knows what’s in it.
34. Matching Shirts
This gift idea is also a gift for yourself, since you’re getting one too.
There are different versions of this, but you can get “King and Queen” shirts, matching pj’s, or other funny shirts that match.
Click here to check out the King and Queen matching shirts!
35. Jewelry
This might sound boring, but getting her a special necklace or bracelet is hard to beat!

36. Get a star constellations wall art
I’ve been getting these ads on Instagram with those start constellation picture frames.
The image below will probably show it better than my explanation, but anyway, I think it’s a super cute gift to your girlfriend.
You can choose the date of the day you met, the day you became a couple, or the day you proposed. The picture will show the star constellations of that day and it’s just such a meaningful gift.
Click here to get to the start constellation print.
37. A Map of where you met
A similar idea than the star constellations, but with the actual map of the place!
Again, you can choose if it should show the place you met at the first time, where you were when you got together, or where you proposed to her (if you have).
38. A cozy blanket
For those who are not that into romantic stuff, you can give her a comfy blanket for Christmas!

Last but not least, you can get your girlfriend a customized phone case that has a cute picture of the two of you (or even a collage with multiple pictures).

Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from
an established blog. Is it difficult to set
up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.
I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to start.
Do you have any points or suggestions? Thank you
