How to Set Up Bullet Journal Budget Spreads for College
Before we get started with all the different budget spreads, let’s talk about the setup.
Here are different time periods you can use for the budget spread:
- Yearly
- Bi-Annually
- Monthly
- Bi-Weekly
- Weekly
- Daily
I would recommend a yearly and a monthly spread for getting the most out of them.
For example, I have a yearly spread where I write down how much money I made and spent every month. At the end of the year, I can add them up easily, which also makes tax season easier!
I also use monthly expense trackers to track my spending every month. But how frequent you want to track your budget is up to you!

For setting up a good budget spread, it’s important to have a bullet journal! While you probably already own one, these are my favorite planners and maybe you save them for next year!
